She died of a stroke Monday in her Southeast Portland home at the age of 78.
She was born Aug. 4, 1915, in Kadoka, S.D. She taught in South Dakota for 14 years before moving to the Portland area in 1964. Mrs. Larson then taught at Holladay Park and Bachman schools for a number of years until her retirement in 1980. She had done volunteer work for the OASIS senior citizens program.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Stahlecker of Portland and Peggy Busick of Vancouver, Wash.; a son, Michael of Portland; sisters, Dorothy Dorsing of Vancouver, Wash., and Edythe Strong of Portland; a brother, Leonard Nellar of Portland; and five grandchildren.
