Noworatzky, Franz (Nov. 2, 1799-Sept. 19, 1874 –second husband of Anna Elster Schnurr –born Bohemia –immigrated to the US on the boat Westphalia departing from the Port of Bremen, Germany, arriving in the Port of New York on July 3, 1854 – “He was a shoemaker in winter going from one farmer to another making shoes for the family. In the summer days he was a peddler with rural notions and housewife necessities carrying all his goods on his back. He got his goods from Milwaukee on foot making such trips often.” –from Memories of Frank Noworatzky –in the 1860 census for the Town of Eaton Frank and Anna are shown living in a house in St. Nazianz with their children Magdalina Schnurr, Anton Schnurr and Frank and Joseph Noworatzky –in the 1870 census for the Town of Eaton, Franz and Anna are shown living in a house with their sons Frank [age 19] and Joseph [age 16] –“In the year 1875 [1874] our father joined our family again, having been separated from us for some years.
