FURGIONE, ROBERT A. 83 - of Margate, died peacefully at Shore Memorial Hospital on Monday June 15, 2009. He was born in Hammonton to Charles and Mary Furgione on December 8, 1925. He is pre-deceased by his wife Anne, and son Robert, and is survived by a son Dennis of Margate, sisters Alice Bastein, and Helen Capri, a brother Anthony, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He served in the US Army during WWII from 1/10/1944 to 3/4/1946 and was discharged honorably as Sergeant. He was owner and operator of B&R Equipment and Auto Supply Co, Inc, proprietor of Albany Gulf Co., president of Bayside Automotive Warehouse Co., Atlantic City, and owner and operator of Beckon Ridge Farm of Mays Landing. He was a member of the Lions Club, Margate Couples Club, Squash Club of Atlantic City, member of the "Reach the Eighty Club" of the Greater Hammonton Chamber of Commerce, and was presented with "In Recognition of Outstanding Service" as Post Commander VFW post 9311 from 1987-1989. He was a loving and giving person and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday 10am at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Margate. Where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Hammonton. Arrangements by the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home.
