Albert Frank "Buck" Barnett, age 68, of Pelzer, S.C., passed away on the evening of Wednesday, November 21, 2012. He courageously, and with much grace, was fighting cancer for the past 3 years. He died surrounded by family and friends. Born in Erie, Pa. on December 27, 1943, he is the son of the late Harold and Gladys (Torrance) Barnett. He graduated from Fort LeBoeuf in 1962, where he was a championship wrestler. He and his wife, JoAnne (Froess) Barnett, celebrated 44 years of marriage this past July. Buck received an Associates Degree for Vocational Education Instruction. He and his brother Ken were former owners of Barnett Collision in Harborcreek, Pa. Buck worked as a heavy-duty collision repairman for 44 years. Buck served in the Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971. He was a Past Commander and life member of the American Legion Post 105 in North East, Pa. He was a Charter Member of the Harborcreek Moose Club. For many years he served as a PIAA Wrestling Referee. His happiest times were spent with his family taking vacations and camping. During his quiet times, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to travel and go to NASCAR races. In his free time, he enjoyed restoring old cars and working in his garage. In addition to his wife JoAnne, whom he married on July 20, 1968, he is survived by two daughters -- Jennifer and her loving partner Jennifer Morley of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., Heather and husband Ryan Richter of Lake Saint Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren -- Connor and McKenzie Morley, and Andrew, Mathew, Nicholas, and Thomas Richter. He is also survived by his brother Ken and wife Jeanne (Froess) of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; and his constant companion, his dog Paco. Visitation was held at Oak Pointe Church, which meets at The Core, 8649 Augusta Rd., Suite D, Pelzer, SC 29669, from 12 p.m.-1 p.m., with a memorial service that followed on Saturday, November 24, 2012.
