Richard J Wynn, 78, a resident of St. Joseph's Home, died at 12:05 pm, Monday at Methodist Medical Center.
Born Sept 5, 1910, in Peoria to Richard and Mary Magdalena Schmidt (Smith) Wynn, he married Gloria E Elliott March 20, 1946, in Peoria. She died March 12, 1975, in Peoria. One granddaughter and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Surviving are one son, (removed) of Peoria; two daughters, Ann Patrice Lowery and (removed), both of Peoria; two grandchildren; one sister, Mary Drake of Peoria; one niece and one nephew.
He was employed as a machinist for 37 years at Caterpillar Inc, retiring in 1972. A World War II veteran of the Army Engineer Corps, he was a member of St. Joseph's Home Chapel.
He was a member of the Associates of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception and the secular Third Order of St. Francis.
Services will be at 8:30 am, Wednesday, at St. Joseph's Home Chapel with the Monsignor Robert G Peters officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be one half hour before services at the home on Wednesday. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Home.
