Elmer Cozell Bolt was born on August 8, 1939 and passed from this life on June 2, 2012 in Arizona. He was a man of many talents and had a quality about him that will never be forgotten by all those who knew him.

Many may not know that Elmer was an artist at one time. He even had his own art gallery in Southern California. He also made jewelry from Gold pieces that he paned for in the Alps of Northern California in the early 1970's.

He had made trips into Mexico before, but by the Fall of 1981, he bought his bus and launched into the Mexico Ministry that would span two more decades. He could only get a six month visa and then would have to "come out" for a time before he could do another six month stint. But it was in his heart to go there and never leave.

He did use the down time to make fund raising tours and speak to anyone who would listen about the plight of those folks below the border.

Many wonder why Elmer had such a passion for the Mexican people. This story has been passed down from someone who knew him very well.

Elmer's mom struggled to take care of her children when her husband left her. They lived in El Paso, TX and were the POOR kids. Elmer would tell of how they had so little to eat.

Anyway, from the playground (school or park?) where they played on the swings, etc., he could look across the Rio Grande over into Mexico and see those children playing ~ no grass, no trees, no toys.

He said it made such a profound impact on him, to see that in spite of the poverty he lived in, there were others so much worse off. That stuck with him, and when he was older and realized their spiritual poverty was as great as their financial poverty, he felt compelled to go there and give them hope in Jesus. He took Spanish in High School and became remarkably fluent at it. He also sang in Spanish. He was a wonderful singer, with a bold voice.

For the last few years Elmer lived in quite seclusion, suffering health issues and died due to Congestive Heart Disease.

He was not alone when he passed from this life, and for that we are all grateful. Although he passed away at his home in NM, his ashes were scattered on the church grounds, of his choice, in AZ.

His absence will be felt forever.

Until we meet again Brother Elmer. You were one fine man....one great warrior of God...rest in peace, our friend...
