PAYNE, Ralph L. 85, of Largo and formerly of Hampton, VA & a native of Galax, VA, was called home to be with the Lord on Nov. 20, 2012. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Saranne Nuckolls Payne; son, J. Michael Payne & his wife Mary of Jacksonville, and their daughter, Ashlie of Orlando; daughter, Elizabeth Payne of Nokomis, FL; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Norma & Olen Quesenberry, and sister-in-law, Dean Nixon, of Galax, VA; and several nieces & nephews. He retired from the Virginia State Health Department as an Epidemiology Specialist and received his medical training at the Centers of Disease Control in Atlanta, GA. He was an active member of Seminole First Baptist Church where he served on various committees. He served his country honorably during World War II and the Korean Conflict as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Masonic Old Town Lodge #68. A memorial service will be held at Seminole First Baptist Church on Nov. 26 at 11 am. Private interment will be at Bay Pines National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Seminole First Baptist Church, 11045 Park Blvd., Seminole, FL 33772 or to the American Heart Association. Reese FH
