Born in Plains Township, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Pauline Markicheski.
She was educated in Plains Township schools and was a 1932 graduate of Plains Memorial High School.
Before her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Erwin Furniture in Wilkes-Barre.
She was also employed in retail jewelry sales for more than 30 years, working at Bartikowsky Jewelers, Musselmans, and Hydock's Jewelry.
She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church in Plains Township, and was active in numerous church committees.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas; sisters, Stella Lutostansky, Lottie Terascavage and Stephina Liberace; and brothers, Joseph and John "Jack" Markicheski.
Surviving are her son, Richard, and daughter, Geraldine Evanko, both of Plains Township; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Sister John of God, Carmelite, New York City; and Sophie Koncewicz, Grosse Ile, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Michael J. Mikelski Funeral Home, 293 S. River St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery in Dallas.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Clark Summit State Hospital Partnership or Northeast Health and Hospice. Donations will be accepted at the funeral home.
