Shirley Irene Gibson was born in Porum, Oklahoma on 21 Nov 1935, the 3rd child of Millie Guinn and Jerry Mitchell Gibson. She married Burley Harold Vanderpool in Bakersfield, California on 19 Feb 1954, they later divorced in 1981. Shirley died 19 Mar 2008 following an extended illness, eventually refusing additional medical treatment, and was survived by her mother, four brothers, two daughters and a son.
