Antonio M. Salerno of 115 Avenue C died on Sept. 9 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Port Washington 73 years ago, attended the local schools, and lived here all his life. Mr. Salerno and his father started R. Salerno and Sons, a contracting firm, more than 50 years ago. Mr. Salerno retired seven years ago. He was a member of the Great Neck Elks Club.
Mr. Salerno is survived by his wife, Rose; his children, Anthony, Robert, and Shirley; his son-in-law, Fred Nardiello; two grandchildren; and his sister, Vera Huizer.
The Mass was offered on Saturday at St. Peter of Alcantara Church and interment was in Nassau Knowles Cemetery. Knowles Funeral Home made the arrangements.
