Tim was living with his parents in Hashua when he enlisted in the Marines 24 May 1967, at a Des Moines Recruiting Office.
When Tim arrived in Vietnam 9 May 1968, he was assigned to India Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Tim was on a security detail at Nam-O Bridge, when he attempted to throw a grenade that prematurely detonated causing him to died of fragmentation wounds to the head and body.
Survived by his parents, Roy C and LaVon R Fritze of 723 S Main Street, Nashua, Iowa.
