OAKLEY - Ronald L. Archibald, 62-year-old Oakley resident died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at Cassia Regional Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Montello, Nev., the son of Robert H. and Elizabeth Venola Lloyd Archibald. He married Margaret Mary Gomes Figueira on Feb. 6, 1965, in California. Ron worked for Cranney Farms in Oakley, and in his spare time he worked with upholstery and repair work for any who needed it. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8930. He was also a member of the Little Flower Catholic Church.

Ron enjoyed fishing, woodworking with his scroll saw, where he made toys and other crafts for his grandchildren. Ron loved black powder gun smithing, reading, playing guitar and singing. He especially loved his family, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Oakley; his mother, Venola Archibald of Oakley; two sons, Paul (Lorelei) Archibald of Chubbuck, and Shawn (Hope) Archibald of Burley; two brothers, Tim (Karma) Archibald, and Ray (Cherie) Archibald, both of Oakley; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert H. Archibald; and one brother, Donald Robert Archibald.

The Rosary will be recited from 6:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at the Payne Memorial Chapel, 221 West Main Street in Burley. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at the Little Flower Catholic Church, with Father Juan Garatea as celebrant.

Burial will be in the Oakley Cemetery, with military rites by the local veterans. Friends may call at the Payne Mortuary on Friday from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the Rosary and following the Rosary from 7 until 9 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to Mass on Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of Payne Mortuary, 221 West Main Street in Burley.
