Sister Veronica Marie Isaacson, O.P., who was a teacher, guidance counselor and administrator at schools in the archdiocese, including St. Helena and Msgr. Scanlan high schools, where she served for 37 years, died Nov. 9 at Siena Hall Infirmary in Sparkill. She was 82.

She served at St. Helena's and Msgr. Scanlan high schools in the Bronx from 1968 until her retirement in 2005. She earlier served at St. Rose of Lima, 1964-1968, and St. Catherine of Siena, 1956-1961, both in Manhattan, and at St. Helena Elementary School, the Bronx, 1953-1956. She also taught in Brooklyn.

In 2009, she became a resident in Siena Hall at the motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters.

Born in Brooklyn, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in 1950 and made final vows in 1958. She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Fordham University, a master's in education from Hunter College and certification in school administration and supervision from Manhattan College.

Sister Veronica Marie is survived by her sister, Virginia Hunt.

A Funeral Mass was offered Nov. 13 at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel at the Dominican Convent in Sparkill. Burial was in St. Agnes Cemetery in Sparkill.
