The remains of Mr. George Woods, of Kinsley, and formerly of Pawnee Rock, were brought to this place and enterred in the Pawnee Rock cemetery where his wife, and daughter, Mrs. Georgie Baker lay, on Monday of this week. Mr. Woods had been an invalid for some time. He was taken down with a stroke of paralysis some years ago from which he never recovered. He was an uncle to Mrs. Henry Bowman of this place, and the father of young William Woods, who, it will be remembered, was tried and sentenced to be hung for the murder of Johnie Hantz, in the Strip, some three years ago, and who was pardoned about a year ago by President Harrison. Mr. Woods was well known in this section, having been the first to run the Pawnee Rock Mill some 14 years ago.
