A notice of her death appeared in the Weekly News of Lenoir, NC, on 5 July 1901:
"Miss Florence Anderson, daughter of Mr. C.A. Anderson, aged about 17, after a severe illness of nearly 12 months, passed from time to eternity the 9th of June, 1901, leaving a father and mother, seven sisters and brothers and many other friends to mourn her loss. May the Lord help them to realize that "All things work together for good" &c., and comfort them in their bereavement.
"She gave perfect satisfaction concerning her faith in her redeemer whom she had been serving for many years. She sang of the heavenly land, talked of seeing Jesus and the holy angels &c., even in the jaws of death.
"According to her request the funeral service was conducted by Rev. M.L. Clark, The service being held at her father's home, on account of measles in the family, at 2 o'clock the 10th. She was burried (sic) at Fleming's burying ground, the church of which she was a member." -M.S.P.
