Shirley Mae Angstadt (nee Thompson), of Wilmington, died Saturday, September 8, 2012, in Kenya, Africa.

She was born on May 1, 1935 in Brookville, Pennsylvania to the late Ethel Minich and W.O. Thompson.

She is survived by her husband, J. Duane Angstadt and brother, Harold Thompson and family, of Uniontown, Ohio.

A "Celebration of Life" service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Wrightsville United Methodist Church with The Reverend Bob Bauman officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wrightsville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 748, Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, 28480, Domestic Violence Shelter & Service, Inc., P.O. Box 1555, Wilmington, North Carolina, 28402, or Good Shepherd Center, 811 Martin Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, 28401.
