Greenville - Mrs. Vivian Blanton Putnam, 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, May 2, 2012.
Born in Horry County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Olin I. and Dora Rowell Blanton and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Putnam was associated for over 30 years as the Bookkeeper for Claussen's Bakery until their closing and then retired from W.E. Shaw Real Estate Company.
She was a longtime active member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Bearden Putnam in 1994. She is survived by her loving family, son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Suzanne Putnam of Moore; granddaughters, Heidi Madrid (Ryan), Heather Perry (Tommy), and Holli Putnam; and a great-grandson, Carter Madrid.
Mrs. Putnam is at The Mackey Mortuary where services will be Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2:00pm with the Reverend Marty Price officiating. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 6pm at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
