Harry Robert Barnett Jr., age 82 of Harborcreek, died on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at his residence. He was born on August 19, 1929 in Limestone, Pa. to the late Harry Robert Barnett Sr. and Katherine Elizabeth Stahlman Barnett.

Harry was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church and was a steel worker at Zurn Industries for 41 years retiring 1991. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Barnett; sisters, Mary Carnes and Lucinda Barnett; brothers, David Lee Barnett and John Leroy Barnett. Harry is survived by his wife of 58 years Dorothy Irene Sowers Barnett, married January 1, 1954; daughters, Cynthia Adams and husband Terry Lee of Harborcreek and Sharon L. Surrena of Wichita Falls, Tex.; sons, Patrick Gene Barnett, Daniel Ray Barnett, Joseph Ronald Barnett and Charles Leroy Barnett all of North East; grandchildren, Jamey Barnett, Matthew Barnett, Carrie Kostansek, Misty Bowers, Anthony Barnett, Dawn Barnett, Amanda Adams, Andrea Adams, Jess, Dallas, Kay and Brent; also six great-grandchildren; sisters, Twila Mae Greeley of Brookville, Dorothy Louise Burkett of North East, Ruth Lillian Mathers of North East, Martha Jane Bartlett of North East, Betty Lou Moore of S .C., Sally Ann Barlett and husband Paul of North East and Shirley Lee Trayer and husband Eugene of North East; brother, Mervin Dean Barnett and wife Betty Lou of Harborcreek.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home 65 South Lake St. North East on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating Rev. David Waldo. Full Military Honors will be at the funeral home. Private interment will be at Erie Co. Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Greenfield Baptist Church 9028 Williams Rd. North East, PA 16428.
