Phyllis was born on February 24, 1934, in Albuquerque, NM, she was the beloved youngest child of William and Anna (Schifani) Eggert.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Phyllis is survived by the four loves of her life, her children, Melodee Witt and her husband, Phil, Carole Sullivan and her husband, Danny, Daniel Sandlin and his wife, Julie and Shirley Sandlin, grandchildren, Kristopher Bero, Phillip Bero and wife, Maria, Kenny Bero, Sara Sullivan, Ian Sandlin and Eric Sandlin, great-granddaughter, ShayLynn Bero. Phyllis is also survived by her brothers, Father Francis X. Eggert and Pete Spehar, her sister, Shirley Villa and her husband, Charles, niece, Carla Villa and her husband, Mike Bickel, great-nephew and niece, Charley and Edie Bickel, uncle, Daniel Schifani of Santa Fé and numerous cousins and countless friends.
Her engaging, charismatic personality and glamorous looks helped to create a resume, which included fashion, hospitality, food and beverage and sales. During the 1960s in Las Vegas, NV, Phyllis modeled for designer boutiques and worked in exclusive hotels and casinos, including Caesar's Palace and the Sands. Here in Albuquerque, she was the office manager at the Albuquerque Business College, managed cash accounting for Cee Vee Concessions at the New Mexico State Fair and was the general manager of the High Noon Restaurant in Old Town. In 1988, Phyllis launched her very successful Mary Kay business, which she continued to work in until the very end of her life.
The family would like to extend very special thanks to the doctors whose care and expertise made the last 12 years possible, Dr. Barbara McAneny and her entire staff at NMCC, Dr. Eric Carlson, Dr. Ronnie Garner, Dr. Donald Porter, Dr. T. Philip Jacob, Dr. Jane Schauer and Dr. Damara Kaplan. Phyllis was a force of nature who changed the energy of every room she entered and our lives are forever changed by her leaving.
