Earl E. Budge, 72, of Stroudsburg, beloved father, grandfather and uncle, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.

He was the husband of the late Joyce (Barton) Budge. They had been married for 38 years until her death in 1999.

Born in Saylorsburg, he was a son of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Newhart) Budge.

Earl was a real estate broker with RE/MAX of the Poconos for 20 years before retiring in 2005 and, prior to that, he was the manager of American Girl Shoe Store in the Whitehall Mall for 10 years. Over the years, Earl had won many real estate awards for sales.

He was a 1957 graduate of Stroudsburg High School and he also attended Penn State University.

Earl was a member of Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church in Hamilton Square, where he and his wife sang on the choir for many years. He was also a former church council member and first vice president several times. At one time or another, Earl had served on the Worship and Music Committee, Stewardship and Building Committees and the Social Ministry and Christian Education Committee. He was instrumental in purchasing the land for the church expansion.

He is survived by two daughters, Sherri Betz and her husband, Jan, of Nazareth, and Sheila Arnott and her husband, Miles, of Telford; three grandchildren, Sophia, Lila and Cason Arnott; and a nephew, Jerry Budge and his wife, Tracy, and their daughter, Cassidy, of Hamilton Square, N.J.
