Boye Collins Babb, Sr., 93-year-old retired ranchman and long-time resident of Val Verde County, died Saturday at 8 p.m. in Shannon West Texas Memorial Hospital in San Angelo. He had been a resident of Golden Years Nursing Home of Cristoval.
The Son of the late Mr and Mrs. Will Ike Babb, early-day ranching couple at Lantry, he was born June 12, 1889, in Colman. He was reared on the ranch and later he ranched in the Langtry area.
Graveside rites will be held in Del Rio's Westlawn Cemetery Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Henry Cash, pastor of the Comstock Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be made under the direction of the Humphreys-Doran Funeral Home.
Survivors include his sons, W.L. Babb or Rocksprings and Boye C. (Smokey) Babb, Jr. of Langtry and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
