Harold Benjamin Hackenberger (Lt. Col. Ret.), 87, passed away in the care of his daughters and nieces. Harold was born to Albert and Allene Hachenberger and completed school days in Lyons Kansas with four brothers (Jordan, Robert, Alan, and Dean). He attended college at both the University of Tulsa (‘47-50, Alpha Tau Omega) and University of Omaha (‘62-64). His aviation career included: Air Corps Cadets (‘43-45), the Air Force (‘51-75), Pilot Instruction (‘80- 85), and Air Transport (‘85-89). His Air Force service included: Korea (‘51-52; RB- 50G, radar and navigation); SAC Bombers (‘56-60, B-47 co-pilot and pilot); Air Ops and SAC Missile Command (‘63-70); and Communications (‘70-75, Joint Chiefs of Staff and Clark Airbase). Harold was preceded in death by his second wife Shirley Ann Allen and is survived by her children Michael, Randy and Teresa. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Dee Hachenberger (their daughters Sally, Sandra, Susan and Courtney); numerous cousins (Kerberger and Britain); his Hackenberger family; (former wife Dorothy and their children (Steven, Alan, Ann and Jan, daughters-in-law Loran and Susan); sister-in-law Wanda Bowline (and her children Charles and Gail); nine grandchildren (Becky, Marcus, Jessica, Amanda, Alana, Megan, Ben, Ethan and Alicia); eight great-grandchildren, and Timmy and Tammy; and wife Karen Moore and her daughters (Lisa and Kathy).
