Lisa Coral Thornton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 after a courageously fought 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. Her husband Brad, and other loved ones were at her side.

She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 20, 1957 to her parents George E. and Coral May Crosby. Her childhood was enjoyed in the Baltimore area where she graduated from Towson High School at the age of 17.

After graduating, she traveled across the country by herself to attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. There she earned her degree in Sociology while becoming a registered nurse. She also spent a memorable semester in Israel which she reflected upon often throughout the rest of her life.

After graduating, Lisa worked in the Payson, Utah hospital as well as a nursing care facility in Orem, Utah. She then met her eternal companion Bradley K Thornton in a ward family home evening group. They were married on March 26, 1982 in the Jordan River Temple in Jordan, Utah.

After Brad graduated they moved to Kuna, Idaho to begin a farming life. Lisa then worked as a nurse at Family Practice Associates in Boise. After taking time off to raise her family, she returned to nursing as a substitute nurse for the Meridian and Kuna school districts.

Her first child, Scott, was born in 1985, followed by Logan in 1987, Devin in 1989, and little sis, Wendy in 1991. She was a devoted mother becoming very involved with her children's many activities including sports, 4-H, scouting, and various church activities. Whether leading, watching, driving, coaching, or cheering she dedicated many hours to her children. She was also a very loving and caring grandma to her two precious granddaughters, Natalee and KylieJo.

In 1986 Brad and Lisa expanded their pig farm by moving to Star, Idaho. After 17 years there, the need for a more modern facility and open spaces brought the family back to Kuna, Idaho where they currently reside.

Lisa was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in many community and church activities. She was a 4-H club leader, Cub Scout Master, and held many church callings including Primary, Young Women's, and finally served as Relief Society President, continuing even after her cancer diagnosis in 2010. She never complained and continued to serve her family and friends throughout her treatments.

Lisa is survived by husband, Bradley K Thornton; son, Scott and his wife, Jessica; son, Logan and his wife, MelissaJo; son, Devin and his wife, Talia; daughter, Wendy; granddaughters, Natalee and KylieJo; mother, Coral Crosby, of Kuna, ID; father, George E. Crosby and his wife, Sabra, of Linden, UT; brother, George "Chip" Crosby, of Hawaii; two sisters, Kim Richardson, of Texas and Jenny McFarlane, of California.
