Geneva Whittemore Gabbard, 79, 733 Gabbardtown Road, Berea, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at the Berea Hospital following an illness. She was a life long resident of Madison County born Feb. 4, 1925, daughter of the late Matt and Mallie Jones Whittemore, former Berea Hospital employee, homemaker, and member of the Baptist Faith.


Survivors include 1 son, Woodrow (Jean) Gabbard; 2 daughters, Carolyn (William) Cruse, Phyllis Gabbard; 1 brother, Rufus Whittemore all of Berea; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edd Gabbard, 1 son, Jerry Gabbard, 1 daughter, Kaye Abney and 1 sister Mae Gabbard.


Funeral service 2:00 PM, Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at Reppert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Miller, Rev. Denton Sears, and Rev. Mark McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Creek Cemetery. Visitation 6 - 9 PM Wed, Dec. 15, at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Abney, Lee Abney, Shaun Abney, Zac McGuire, Rodney Gabbard, Clarence Isaacs, Billy Gabbard. Honorary pallbearers will be: William Cruse, Billy Short, Jackie Cope, Harold Himes, John Gabbard, Dallas Spires, Mike Reed, Mark McGuire.
