Alvin Roy Summers, 63, a farmer of Horner, Route 1, died at 10:25 p.m. Monday January 21, at a local hospital. Born April 7, 1882, Mr. Summers was a son of Perry and Amanda Clark Summers. He married Ada Hardman April 7, 1904. She survives with nine children: Opal Virginia, at home; Maxwell Hardman, of Aurora; Ralph Perry, of Portland, OR; Alvin Carl, at home; Lt. Mary Elizabeth, of the Army Nurse corps, stationed at Tampa, FL; the Rev Willis Franz, student at the Theological seminary, Westminster MD; Roy Clayton, of Buckhannon; Amanda Marguerite, at home and Lt, Zane H., of Ft. McClellan, AL. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Rose Stalnaker, of Andover, OH; Mrs. Frank Roach, of Weston and Mrs. I. H. Brown, of Kent, OH. There are six grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Stalnaker Funeral Home.
