From Marvin's obituary found in "The Flint Journal," page 74, dated 27 September 1964: HICKS - Marvin E. -- 1055 Forest Ave., age 43, died Saturday, September 26, 1964, at Hurley Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, at Colonial Chapel, Reigle Funeral Home, 2417 S. Saginaw St., Rev. Esco Malin officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Hicks will remain at the funeral home. He was born in Parma, Missouri on August 31, 1921, and had been a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Hicks was a bulldozer operator for Frasier Construction Company, Saginaw, Michigan.

Marvin attended Bentley Schools, in Burton, Genesee County, Michigan.
