Arnie owned and operated Meredith Carpets for 47 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Flint. Arnold was a Past Potentate of Elf Khurafeh Shrine Center, serving as Potentate in 1973, he was the Treasure for 25 years and a past Director of Royal Order of Jesters. He was a life time member of Masonic Fellowship Lodge #490 F.&A.M., he became a 33rd degree Mason in 1978, was a Past Commander of Valley of Bay City Scottish Rite, a member of Commandery #15, Flint Council #56 R&S.M. and the Order of the Eastern Star #299, member of Washington Chapter #15 R.A.M. He was Past President of the Flint Shrine Club and a member of Fenton, Oasis, Davison, and Circus Park Shrine Clubs. On November 6, 2004 the Bay City Scottish Rite Ceremonial Class will be named after Arnold S. Meredith. He was also a member of the Old News Boys. Arnie was a honorary member of the Shrine Clown Unit and hes clown name was "Ruggs". Arnie served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in Normandy and Rhineland Ardennes Central Europe. He received a Good Conduct Medal, 5 Bronze Service Stars and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, June Sedlarik in 1991; sister-in-law, Betty Meredith in 2004.
