He served in the United States Air Force for 37 months and on February 7, 1942, he married the former Evelyn Thurow at Zion Lutheran Church in Peshtigo.
He was a warm, kind person who enjoyed meeting people, made friends easily and loved spending time with this grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing cards, golfing, hunting, fishing, following the Peshtigo Bulldogs and the Green Bay Packers and spending winters in Florida. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion, a past Boy Scouts assistant, Boy Scouts leader and was a creative handyman.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Evelyn;
a son Steven (Marcia) Storey of Hastings, MI;
a daughter Rosemary (Steven) Clark of Green Bay, WI;
4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Francis;, three brothers: William Story, Wilbur Storey and Woodrow Story and two sisters: Mildred Hauser and Marcia Bennett.
Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery.
