Barrett L. (Smiley) BURNETT - Of Bradenton, Florida, age 85, died Friday, January 12, 2001 at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Florida. He was born in Kennett, Missouri on May 14, 1915 and was a resident of Bradenton, Florida for the past 6 years. He married Christine Walls on November 9, 1935 and they were married for 59 years and she preceded him in death in 1994. They moved to Flushing, Michigan in 1947. Mr. Burnett enlisted in the Army and served for his country in World War II. Barrett and Christine attended two local churches throughout their Christian life; More Tabernacle and most recently South Flint Tabernacle. Barrett's contagious smile (Smiley) was a reflection of his walk with God and his approach to life. Mr. Burnett was employed by the Village of Flushing and later retired in 1977 from Buick Motor Division.
