In 1989 Linda was the recipient of the Ester V. Jepson Scholarship to attend Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota. She graduated from Dickinson State University in 1991 with a degree in elementary education. Linda taught school in the Dickinson Public School system from 1991 until 1994 when she and her family returned to Glendive where she worked as a substitute teacher in the Dawson County School system. Linda became the executive director of the Glendive Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture in 1997. A position that she held until the time of her death.
Linda had served as the spokesperson for the Eastern Montana Custer Country Lewis & Clark project, she was a member of Makoshika Promotions, the Lower Yellowstone Chapter of ABATE, the Job Service Employer Committee, ACT Committee, she had served as a past president of the Cottonwood Ladies Golf Association and had been featured in Who's Who Magazine for the 1978 Young Careerist of BPW, Linda had been instrumental in developing Glendive as a Superhost Community with the Montana Department of Tourism.
Linda's philosophy was always "make things better" and she always seemed to find something positive in everything that happened. She had great love for her family and enjoyed their company. Linda was an avid reader who also enjoyed motorcycle riding and cross-stitching. Linda was preceded in death by her father in 1996.
Survivors include; her husband Alan of Glendive, three daughters; Heddi Ann Trotman and her husband Jason of Okinawa, Japan, Mary Kathleen "Katie" Koncilya and Andrea Dawn Koncilya both of Glendive, one granddaughter, Calais Mia Trotman of Okinawa, Japan, two brothers; David Colbrese of Glendive, Montana and Kerry Colbrese of Mesa, Arizona, two sisters; Alane Hemphill and her husband James of North Carolina and Kim Trangmoe and her husband Daryl of Glendive, Montana, her mother, Lucylle Colbrese of Glendive, Montana.
