Henry Elwood Myers, 77, of Sundale Road, Johnson City, died Wednesday at James H. Quillen Veterans Hospital at Mountain Home.

Mr. Myers was a son of the late Henry Dailey Myers and Cora Shoun Myers. He was a native of Carter County and grew up in Johnson City.

He was a retired assistant administrator with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Oteen, N.C., and a member of North Johnson City Baptist Church and the Asheville Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include his wife: Marcella Nipper Myers; a daughter and son-in-law: Betye and John Farmer of Greeneville; a son and daughter-in-law: Richard and Laura Ellen Myers of Mosheim; three grandsons: Chris Johns of Greeneville, Brad Myers of Mosheim, and Tim Myers of St. Cloud, Fla.; two brothers: Walter J. Myers and T.N. Myers, both of Johnson City; a sister: Anna Burton of Atlanta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in Johnson City.

The funeral service will be held following visitation at 8 p.m. Saturday in Morris-Baker South Chapel. The Rev. I. Wiley Rutledge and the Rev. David Guinn will officiate.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Monte Vista Burial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:40 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be selected from family members and friends
