Jacob Junior Sims, age 84, of Highlandville,passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012. He was born to Jacob Earl and Lona (Maples)Sims on December 1, 1928, near Highlandville. He was united in marriage to Anna Mae Rhea on July 17, 1948, in
Highlandville. Junior was saved at an early age at Pleasant View Southern Baptist Church and has been a member of the
church for most of his life. Junior served as a deacon at the church for many years. Junior farmed all of his life, mostly raising cattle. Junior also worked at the cheese plant in Nixa several years and drove a school bus for
Galena School, for over 20 years. His family describes him as an honorable man, a hard worker, a man of strong will and
character. People who knew Junior knew they could take him at his word.
Junior is survived by his children, Sherry Stewart and husband Lawrence, of Highlandville, Rick Sims, Kimberling City, Karen Gilley and husband John, of Branson West, and Dawn Doneski and husband Ray, of Wichita, KS. Junior is
also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew and Stephanie Stewart, of Seneca, Adam and Jennifer Stewart, of Mt. Vernont, Michael Gilley, of Pasadena, CA, and David Gilley, of Branson West; also great grandchildren, Taya and Tripp Stewart.
Junior is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna Mae, siblings, Truman Russell, Ina White, and Ruby Sims.
Funeral services for Junior Sims will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Pleasant View Southern Baptist Church, Highlandville. Burial will follow at Pleasant View (Flood) Cemetery, Highlandville. A visitation will be from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M.Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Adams
