Ethel May Pettie-Baxter, a centurion, died March 24, 2002. She was born July 27, 1901 in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota and came to Washington State at the age of three. Ethel lived most of her life in Tacoma and was a pioneer of the Olympic Penninsula. Her husband, Ernie, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Cunningham of Yuma, AZ and Lona Gardner of Coarsegold, CA. One brother, Earl Pettie; along with six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002 in the Mount View Garden Chapel. Interment in Mount View Memorial Park. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
