BELMONTE - John V. Belmonte Sr. M.D., beloved husband of Anna M. Belmonte, nee Izzo; loving father of Leonard (Rosemary), John V. Jr. M.D. (Sherrill) and Alan (Valerie); dear grandfather of Andrew, Edward, Anne, John V. III, Kristin, Braden, Pamela and Norah Beth; fond brother of Mary (the late Joseph Gattone), Sue Wurbin, Angela "Dolly" (John) Izzo and the late Bill and Gino Belmonte; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Colonel and recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze star and seven Battle Stars in the South Pacific Theater during World War II, Member, 4th degree, Knights of Columbus, Fr. Francis Xavier Breen Council #1899. Class of 1931 graduate from the Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University, and was past clinical instructor at that school. Retired staff physician of St. Elizabeth's, Oak Park, and Gottlieb hospitals. Funeral service Tuesday, 9:15 a.m., from Hursen Funeral Home, 4001 W. Roosevelt Rd. (S.W. corner Roosevelt and Mannheim), Hillside-Westchester, to Immaculate Conception Church, Elmhurst. Mass 10 a.m. Entombment Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
