Sr. Theresa Caruso, MPF, 95, died Friday. Nov. 30,2012, at St. Joseph Hall, Villa Walsh Morristown, NJ. The viewing will be held Tues December. 4th 2012, from 2 to 4: pm in the St. Lucy Chapel Villa Walsh, Morristown NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 4pm. Internment will be in the Ava Maria Cemetery Villa Walsh , Morristown, NJ. Born in Newark, NJ Sister Theresa entered the Religious Teachers Filippini in 1934. She received the habit in 1935 and made her religious profession in 1938. She was awarded a BS degree in elementary education from the Catholic Teachers College, Providence, R.I. Sister Theresa taught at St. Joseph Hammonton, NJ Holy Rosary, Jersey City, NJ St Francis, Hackensack, NJ St Joachim, Trenton NJ St. Mary Mt. Virgin, New Brunswick, NJ Our Lady of Assumption, Bayonne, NJ and Our Lady Queen of Peace, Maywood, NJ She also ministered at St. Anthony, Hartford Conn. St. Mary, Cranston, RI. and Our Lady of the Lakes Lakeport, NH. Sr. Theresa served as a director of religious education at the Church of the Epiphany, Cliffside Park, NJ St. Ann, Raritan, NJ and Holy Innocents, Neptune, NJ Sister Theresa retired in 1994 at the Mother- House, Villa Walsh, Morristown, NJ. and in 1995 she became a resident at the Freytag Hall Infirmary, Villa Walsh. Sister Theresa is survived by her sisters-in-law, Dolores and Aileen Caruso, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Frances (Irace) Caruso, her sister, Rose Cicalesse, and her brothers, Carmen, Peter, Louis and Augustine. She was a faithful daughter of St. Lucy Filippini. donations in Sister Theresa name will be accepted at Villa Walsh 455 Western Avenue Morristown NJ.
