Mr. Nipper was a native of Nars, Virginia. He was the son of the late Bradford Nipper and Viola Gouch Nipper. In addition to his parents, his wife of fifty-three years, Doris Nipper, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Nipper retired from L & N Railroad after fifty-three years of service in Louisville, Kentucky.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen A. Snyder and her husband, David; two nieces, Betye Farmer and her husband, John, and Penny Maxwell and her husband, John; one nephew, Dan Proffitt; one great nephew, Chris Johns; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Proffitt.
The graveside service for Mr. L.B. Nipper will be conducted at 3 PM Friday, November 30, 2012, in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pastor Lon Tobin will officiate. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 PM Friday prior to the service.
