Bart enlisted in the Army 23 May 1949 and discharged 20 Oct 1953. On 3 Jan 1951 he was captured in South Korea. He was put in a POW camp Ch'ang-Song (Source: Repatriated Korean Conflict POWs) While in the camp, the building he was living in burned. He had burns on his entire body except part of his face and the area beneath his belt. His disposal date was 27 Aug 1953 in North Korea.
He returned to Fulton County, Ohio and married Wilma G. Kuntz and they had a daughter, Linda. He and Wilma were married 22 years, but divorced on 10 Mar 1981.
He worked construction for many years. He and my late husband, Randy, became friends in the late 1960s.
