Jackie Roy Adams, 76, of Martinsville passed from this life at 11: 44 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Jackie Roy was born in Goodland, Missouri on August 17, 1936 to the late Joseph Roy and Lottie Mae (Mahurin) Adams. He spent his childhood in Missouri, graduated high school there and later moved to Martinsville in 1974.

On July 31, 1958 he married Glenda Ruth (Hughes) Adams; she preceded him in death on February 8, 2010.

He retired in 2002 from General Motors Allison Division in Indianapolis after 27 years of employment as an electrician and was a member of the Waverly Masonic Lodge #615.
Jackie Roy was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force on March 3, 1963 as an Airman First Class after serving his country from March 3, 1955.

Though most of his time was spent working countless hours over the years, he took pleasure in playing cards on his down time. His greatest pastime was spending time with his family.

He leaves behind a host of loving family, who will miss him dearly including his four sons, Rowdy (wife, Debbie) Adams of Sterling, VA, Robbie (wife, Ellen) Adams of Camby, IN, Michael (wife, Cindy) Adams of Nashville, TN and Timothy (wife, Michelle) Baker of Booneville, MO; one daughter, Rebecca (husband, Bob) Neal of Martinsville; one sister, Nadeen Knouse of Missouri; one brother, Michael Adams of Indiana; thirteen grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 51 years, Glenda Adams; one brother, Bernell Adams and one sister, Vonda Baker.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, December 7th from 4-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, December 8th from 9-10:00 a.m. at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. Rev. Earl Chestnut will conduct a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. and burial will follow in IOOF Cemetery in Waverly, Indiana.
