Jared Nefi Christenson, 35, Independence, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at the Veterans Hospital, Kansas City, MO. Jared was born July 11, 1969, in Honduras, Central America, and was the son of Jim and Phyllis Christenson of Independence, MO. He is survived by his mother, Phyllis; four sisters and two brothers, Kathryn and Tom Lysinger, Lee's Summit, Jaime and Aracely Christenson, Blue Springs, Jon and Janet Christenson, Lee's Summit, Kim and Keith Fletcher, Odessa, Kara and Chuck Cole, Holden, Amy Wilcoxson, Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews. His father, Jim, preceded Jared in death. Jared was a 1987 graduate of Blue Springs High School, a U.S. Navy veteran that served aboard the aircraft carrier, Saratoga during Operation Desert Storm and was a member of the Community of Christ Church. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Community of Christ Church at Harvest Hills in Independence. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Holden, MO. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Christenson.
