Susie Lee Marchbanks, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed into the arms of her Lord on November 30, 2012. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 5th, in the Chapel of Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Susie was born on November 9, 1931 in Ducanville to Luton Scott and Vera Marie Clark Sims. She married Beasel T. Marchbanks in July of 1955. Susie worked in the cafeteria of the Alvarado schools for 18 years. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and a member of Brush Arbor Church in Alvarado. Her family can take comfort in her strong faith and can only imagine her joy and wonder at entering the gates of heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Robert Alvin Marchbanks and Larry Joe Goodwin; daughter, Vera Sue Marchbanks; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Susie is survived by her husband of 57 years, B.T. Marchbanks of Alvarado; sons, Ernest Gene Marchbanks of Midlothian, J.D. Marchbanks of Alvarado, Chuck Marchbanks of Alvarado; daughter, Rosemary Marchbanks of Alvarado; sisters, Ann Davis and husband Bruce of Mansfield, Helen Applegate and husband Steve of Nacogdoches; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
