Robert W. Deiss died way too young at 95. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice; his sister, Elizabeth Snover; his son in law, Clifford Roberts; and a grandson, Michael Deiss. Survivors include his daughter, Sally Roberts, and her children, Lorrie, Beth and Mark Roberts; his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Bonnie Deiss, and their children, Pamela and David Seymour, and Laurie and Kurt Kraetsch; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ronald Mercer and their children, Keith and Patti Mercer, Jodie Nixon, and Karl and Diana Mercer; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Marcus, Koree, Amanda, Ryan, Morgan, Makayla, Molly, Matt, Brandon, Scott, Danielle, Kori, Kristin, & John; and one great-great-grandson, James Cody; a brother, Richard Deiss of Willett; and a sister-in-law, Jean Williams of Greene. Robert grew up on a river farm in Ouaquaga and loved fishing, baseball, bowling, gardening, and woodworking. He was a graduate of Windsor Central School. He worked for 35 years at IBM in Endicott, retiring in 1971 to the life of a gentleman farmer. Robert loved his country and his farm. He was a lifetime member of Ouaquaga United Methodist Church, singing in the choir, serving as treasurer for 50 years, and was also a church trustee. He was a member and past president of Knox Cemetery Board, Windsor School Board from 1969-1979, and a 75 year member of Windsor Lodge #0442 of the Free & Accepted Masons, and was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Robert loved his family above all else and always put them first in his life.
