Richard E. (Dick) Miller, 69, of Ouaquaga, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2000, as the result of an aviation accident. He was predeceased by his father, Harold R. Miller, and a daughter, Teresa. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Phyllis Brookins Miller, Ouaquaga; a son, David Miller, Conklin; two daughters, Elaine Miller, Ouaquaga, and Lisa Hoyt, Binghamton; four grandchildren, Doreen, Ariel, Zachary and Audrey; a great-granddaugh­ter, Allyssa; his mother, Eleanor May Miller, Ouaquaga; two brothers, Ray­mond and Sharon Miller, Binghamton, and Douglas Miller, Ouaquaga; his mother-in-law, Fannie Brookins, Oneonta; brother-in-law, Lee and Ellie Brookins, Sidney; also nieces, nephews and many dear friends and neighbors. Dick was a retired Federal Government GSA employee, a member of the Ouaquaga United Methodist Church. He served as president of the Ouaquaga Fire Department, where he was a valued and active member. He was the president of the Knox Cemetery Asso­ciation, the treasurer of the U.S. Ultralight Association #66, a member of the Windsor Lodge #442, F&AM, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Lloyd B. Phelps American Legion Post 571 and a charter member of the Windsor Alumni Association.
