Megan was born on March 7, 1988 in Jacksonville, Florida to Richard E. and Lorraine C. Batdorf.
She was a high school Junior at the Gunston Day School in Centerville, MD. Megan previously attended the Weems Creek Nursery School, the Naval Academy Preparatory School, Arnold Elementary School, and Ben Franklin Academy. She held a 2004 summer position as lifeguard at Mears Marina, Annapolis.
Megan was active with Gunston's thespian players and choral group. Athletically inclined, Megan swam with the Naval Academy Aquatic Club and Mears Marina Swim Team, played basketball for Gunston and BAYS community teams, field hockey and tennis with Gunston. Megan was an avid equestrian enthusiast who lovingly cared for her two horses, Bella, a thoroughbred mare and her warmblood filly, Anabel. Megan participated in various riding events in Maryland
Megan is survived by: her loving parents, Richard E. and Lorraine C. Batdorf of Annapolis; her twin sisters, Amy and Amanda Batdorf of Annapolis; and her grandmother, Connie Bellows of Northville, MI. Her surviving aunts and uncles include: Sue Didama of Orlando, FL, Lillian Durecki of Garden City, MI, Janet Bellows of Lincoln Park, MI, Ann Vreeland of Bryan, OH, Jim Batdorf of Pioneer, OH, and Tom Batdorf of Redmond, CA.
Megan was a beautiful, physically and emotionally strong, spirited, and loving child who is terribly missed by her family and friends.
