Mrs. Brasington died Wednesday, January 10, 2001. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Doris Kinard Derrick.
Mrs. Brasington was employed with the Richland County Public School System for 35 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and attended Earlewood Baptist Church.
She was first married to the late James H. Haithcock Jr.Surviving are her husband, James Odell Brasington of Chapin; adopted daughter, Shirley Outlaw of Irmo, Nieces, Vivian Hartel Johnson, Debbie Sowell, Dianne Hambrick, and Teresa Martin: and three step-sons, Robert O. Brasington, William A. Brasington, and James B. Motley.
She was predeceased by her sister, Ernestine D. Hartel and her brother, Joe K. Derrick.
