Maxine E. Lackey, 93, of Springfield, MO and formerly of Augusta, passed away, Wednesday, December 5th, 2012. Graveside service 2 pm Saturday, December 8th, 2012, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Maxine was born November 28, 1919 in Arma, Kansas to the late Jane Marie (Webb) and Charles Bixler Dearing. Maxine married Raymond George Lackey on November 19, 1939 in El Dorado. Together with her husband, she was a famer and they also had a custom cutting business for 15 years. Maxine was a member of the Nazarene Church in Augusta. Raymond preceded her in death on March 8, 1984. A brother, Robert Dearing, and two sisters, Anna Charlene Thompson and Patricia Jane Morris also preceded her. She is survived by: daughters, Joyce Roberts and husband Harold of Wichita and Judith Wearne of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Natalie and Bradley Barr; and great grandchildren, Derek Barr, Sara Samuelson and Nathan Lackey. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
