Obituary Notice of Mabel K. Wells
Mrs. Mabel K. Wells died yesterday at her home, 304 East Broad Street. She was 70.
Mrs. Wells was a member of the Good Shepherds Lodge of Burlington, and Patriotic Order Sons of America of Mt. Holly. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Slack Funeral Home, 117 East Broad Street, with burial in St. Mary's churchyard.
[A letter was sent to the National P.O.S. of A. in Willow Grove, PA to see who in the family made Mabel eligible to join. Their reply was she could not belong to the P.O.S. of A. because it was an organization only for male family members. They said another organization, the P.O.A., was probably what Mabel belonged to. This required no special tie to a veteran to join and there were no records kept for this organization. It is now extinct.]
(Slack's Funeral Home arranged the funeral. Found in Slack's Funeral Home Record Book 1951, page 326.)
