Emily I. Young, a 78-year resident of Carson City, died Nov. 23,2008. She was born in Tonopah Dec. 1, 1922. She graduated from Carson High School in 1941. She married Donald H. Young on December 11, 1943 in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Her husband, as well as two sisters and one brother, preceded her in death.

Among her survivors are daughters Theresa Bachstadt and Janie Keller of Carson City and Emily Randolph of Goldendale, Wash.; son Donald J. of Oregon City, Ore.; brother John McClain of Terre Haute, Ind.; sisters, Edna Smith of Kernville, Calif., Cecelia Stewart of Reno, Josephine Hilderbrand of Santa Rosa, Calif. and Betty Norman of Citrus Heights, Calif. as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Emily was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. She was a member of the Eagles 1006 auxiliary since 1964. She was also her children's 4-H, Cub Scouts, and Brownie leader.

A memorial Service will be 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 1 at Walton's Chapel of The Valley, 1281 N. Roop St.
