James died at Mercy Hospital in Grayling.

He married Florence Williams in 1932, she died in 1964. 2nd wife: Sata Green.

He had resided in Lewiston the past 30 years coming from Mt. Morris.
James was a member of UAW Local 599 and employed by Buick Motor Division for 40 years, retiring in 1971. He was on of the original Sit Down Strikers in 1936.
He was a member of the Mt. Morris Masonic Lodge and the Old Newsboys.

HILLAKER, James E. - Of Lewiston, formerly of Mt. Morris, age 93, died Saturday, December 25, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Grayling. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Barry Parker officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 1-9 PM with a masonic memorial service at 7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Fund.

Mr. Hillaker was born March 19, 1911 in Brown City, Michigan to the late James and Lottie (Jones) Hillaker. He married Florence Williams in 1932. She preceded him in death in 1964. James then married Sata Green March 10, 1967. He had resided in Lewiston the past 30 years coming from Mt. Morris. James was employed by Buick Motor Division for 40 years, retiring in 1971. He was also a member of the original "sit down strikers." He was a member of the Mt. Morris Masonic Lodge and the Old Newsboys. James enjoyed golf and working with his hands.

Surviving are: wife: Sata; 3 children: James and wife Shirley Hillaker of Port Charlotte, FL., Richard and wife Belva Hillaker of Clio and Donald and wife Linda Hillaker of Bay Port. 23 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
