Twylla M. Stevens, 58, of Chapman died Saturday, July 7, 2001 at St. Francis Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Kleine Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dominic Pecoraro will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. She was cremated. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to her family. Mrs. Stevens was born Sept. 15, 1942, at Shelton to Herman and Mildred (Oswald) Spellman. She graduated from Kearney Senior High.
She married Robert Sevens on Jul 7, 1963, Nazarene Church, in Kearney. After she was married, she attended Kearney State College and Hastings College and received her master's degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
She worked for the Veterans Administration as a social worker. Previously, she worked for the State of Nebraska as a social worker. She enjoyed painting and reading and was active in many organizations.
Survivors include her father and stepmother,Herman and Pat; her ex-husband, Robert Stevens of St. Louis; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald and Joyce and Mark; three brothers, Calvin , Larry, and Doug; one sister, Linda; five stepbrothers and sisters and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister
