Mrs. Bertha Fischer Dies at Charles Fischer Home Last Night
Chili-(Special)-Mrs. Bertha Fischer, 78, died of old age complication shortly after 9 o'clock last night at the Fischer farm home, one mile west of Chili. She had been confined to her bed by illness for the past 11 weeks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Sunday from the home, followed by services at the Chili Evangelical church. The Rev. E. P. Manley will officiate and interment will take place in the family lot at Brillion. Because of the funeral there will be no worship service at the church Sunday.
Mrs. Fischer, nee Rusch, was born at Rockland, Manitowoc county on Dec. 17, 1858, and was married there to David William Fischer on March 7, 1879. After their marriage, the couple moved to a farm at Brillion, where Mr. Fischer died on June 13, 1915.
On Aug. 1, 1915, Mrs. Fischer came to Chili to make her home with her son, Charles, and daughter, Elsie, on the present farm home which was purchased by Charles Fischer in the fall of 1914.
Other surviving relatives include three stepchildren, Mrs. Henry Strehlau, and Mrs. Henry Schinner, Peshtigo, and Henry Fischer, Brillion; and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Haese, Brillion; Mrs. Fred Brandt, Fond du Lac; and Mrs. William Brandt, Wiley, Minn.
